About The Author

Although I grew up in Norfolk, UK, I never felt truly at home until I lived in Australia, and that is no doubt why my first published novels are set there. All of my books so far have some element of fact in them. I guess it’s hard for any writer not to include events and people from their own life. Our experiences shape our thoughts and the words and actions of our characters. It’s for this reason that there is ocean sailing in many of my novels. Open ocean sailing formed a mayor part of my life for twenty-odd years, and harbours many fond memories–and moments of cold dread.

Although I sometimes wish I’d become a novelist earlier in life, I realise that if I had, I wouldn’t have the range of characters and events that I do now.

Having lived in a few different countries, I now live in beautiful Whitley Bay near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
